Studio Bankside (aka Bankside)
Originally 2 films - one colour and one black and white

"A leading figure in avant-guard film-making, Derek Jarman was known for producing numerous pop promo's and feature films, as well as being a prolific author, artist, gardener, and gay rights activist. Studio Bankside is one of Jarman's earliest films and captures the bohemian lifestyle eked out in his onetime studio and home. The film includes several scenes shot in and around Bankside, now home to Tate Modern. Shots across the Thames toward St Paul's recall a period in London's recent history when much of the riverside property lay vanant and dilapidated prior to a period of urban regenration associated with the Thatcher era."
- Gregor Muir

"The domestic footage of Studio Bankside is punctuated by repeated close ups of a light bulb filament which resembles a fiery hieroglyph"
- Rowland Wymer
